CDP Group invests 4 million euros to help maker of Montalbano grow in international markets
Simest reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of Made-in-Italy excellence with a new operation in support of the Italian audiovisual sector.
CDP Group underwrote 13% of the share capital of Palomar, the Rome-based film and television production company, with a total funding of 4 million euros.
Palomar, in business since 1986, is an operator of excellence in the Italian market, counting among its main clients state broadcaster Rai, and private television groups Mediaset and Sky. The company’s production portfolio counts more than 150 products including movies, televison series, and television documentaries over the past decade. Thanks to the quality of its productions, such as Il Commissario Montalbano, Braccialetti Rossi, and award-winning films Il Giovane Favoloso and Noi Credevamo, the company is growing on the distribution market abroad, closing major contracts with Sony, and Canalplus Bevaria.
Simest’s support will focus increasingly on international markets through important investments in production rights for projects set to be made in the 2017-19 period. The CDP Group investment promotes the revival of the Italian audiovisual market in a competitive environment characterized by the presence of major European groups.
