Development of Egypt’s Zohr gas field starts

Saipem awarded new engineering and the construction (E & C) offshore for more than 1.5 billion euro. Among these, the development of the Zohr gas field development, located off the Egyptian coast in the Mediterranean Sea, discovered by Eni in August of 2015 with the drillship Saipem 10000, which is still operating in the area.
The contract - of type EPCI, or engineering, procurement, construction and installation - was assigned to Saipem by the Petrobel joint venture between Eni and Egpc (Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation). It includes the installation of a pipeline for the 26-inch diameter gas export pipelines and from 14:08 inches service and works for the development in deep waters (up to 1700 m) of six wells.
For the realization of the works, the delivery of, which is expected by the end of 2017, Saipem will operate a fleet of highly qualified vessels.
