CDP at the National Conference of Development Cooperation in Rome to discuss its commitment to responding to emerging needs
Tunisia, Senegal, Argentina, Morocco, Iraq, Mozambique, Ethiopia and Vietnam are points spanning the globe that represent CDP's constant and decisive commitment to international cooperation and its promotion of development projects in partner countries. From education to health, through infrastructure and business support the field of action is broad and covers strategic sectors for the economic, social, and cultural growth of territories.
CDP, as a Financial Institution for Development Cooperation, is one of the protagonists of the Italian Cooperation system, which met at the National Conference of Development Cooperation organized at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome in the presence, among the others, of Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, Italian Minister of the Environment Gian Luca Galletti, President of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera, and European Commissioner for Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica.
During the conference, CDP Chief Business Officer Antonella Baldino underlined the desire to expand CDP's commitment to field of cooperation, by focusing on active financial instruments and promoting the creation of new measures, in synergy with the other institutions, included among these is the partnership with the Italian Ministry of the Environment, which Antonella Baldino announced during the event. This initiative will allow the development of a joint lending platform, aimed at financing initiatives in partner countries - primarily sub-Saharan Africa and neighboring countries - with a focus on the development of renewable energy, reduction of CO2 emissions and energy efficiency.
Working in synergy to meet the challenges of the future, renewable energy, sustainability, support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are among the numerous areas in which to work to promote initiatives aimed at the economic and social well-being of target countries. From this point of view, a declaration was presented at the end of the conference, containing cooperation objective for the next three years.
