The homes in the "Ex Casa degli Infermieri" complex, owned by CDP Immobiliare, are ready, destined for families affected by the collapse of the Morandi Bridge. The New Urban Body exhibition also arrives in the city, to explore opportunities and developments in social housing

Cassa depositi e prestiti’s commitment to its real estate arm is one of the main drivers of the Group's mission. From property development to social housing projects, a host of initiatives demonstrate CDP's dedication to urban regeneration and development across the region.
The Group's activities in real estate shave been fundamental to enabling swift intervention when necessary, as in the case of Genoa, where CDP has delivered 40 social housing apartments in the "Ex Casa degli Infermieri" building (after a month of work), to accommodate families affected by the collapse of the Morandi Bridge. The Group's commitment to the Ligurian capital, which is home to a number of strategic companies such as Fincantieri and Ansaldo Energia, has also assumed a number of other guises.
For example, CDP agreed to allow deferred repayment of the instalments of a number of loans which were originally due in the second half of 2018 and in 2019, without imposing additional charges upon the Municipality, enabling the Genoese authorities to free up financial resources to be used to help the region get back on its feet in the short and medium-long term.
"In delivering these apartments, and extending the deadline for the payment of loan instalments without imposing additional charges on the Municipality , as approved by our Board of Directors, CDP Group has shown its concrete support for the city of Genoa and the Ligurian territory as a whole," said CDP CEO Fabrizio Palermo."Our continuous discussions with local institutions, which began just a few hours after the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, enable us to continue our work on implementing the most appropriate solutions to support the region and the enterprises affected by this tragedy."
For CDP, Genoa is a priority. This is also confirmed by the presence of the travelling exhibition New Urban Body, which recently arrived at the Church of Sant'Agostino in the Ligurian capital and which explores the evolution of the ways in which we live, work and meet, and the positive effects of this in terms of urban transformation.
Supported by CDP Investimenti SGR along with Fondo Housing Sociale Liguria, Regione Liguria, Comune di Genova, Fondazione Carispezia, Compagnia di San Paolo, and the Fondazione De Mari, the exhibition was conceived as an entertaining and informative experience, and features a guided interactive tour which provides visitors with an understanding of the themes in question in a direct, fun manner, as well as giving them the opportunity to try their hand at designing their own personal project.
After Milan, Rome and Palermo, NUB will be in Genoa until 20 January 2019, illustrating the evolution of the spaces we live in and the commitment of CDP Group to supporting new housing policies, which are fundamental in building an innovative and sustainable urban environment.
