The indirect equity investment activity of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group continues, in accordance with the guidelines of its 2022-2024 Strategic Plan and in line with the principle of attracting capital to the market (crowding-in), to bring international, institutional and corporate funding to Italy. In 2022 CDP, through its subsidiary CDP Equity, invested a total of €400 million euros in direct and indirect venture capital investment funds (Large Ventures Fund and the ServiceTech, EnergyTech and InfraTech segments of the Corporate Partners Fund I managed by CDP Venture Capital), private equity (FoF Impact and Italian Agri & Food Fund managed by Fondo Italiano di Investimento – Italian Investment Fund) and infrastructure – Marguerite III.
These new instruments aim to develop the cornerstones of the Italian market, through the involvement of new private capital to support innovation, impact finance and the expansion of SMEs in strategic supply chains for the country, as well as strengthening infrastructure.
Thanks to these initiatives, CDP's investments have made it possible to attract additional resources from third-party investors totalling more than €600 million, a significant initial leverage effect of 2.5 times, thereby proving the efficacy of the initiatives and the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
