“We make long-term investments in areas where others don’t arrive": CDP CEO Fabio Gallia in Milan to discuss changes offered to Italy
Milan, July 14, 2016
A meeting in Milan to encourage Italian companies to bet on innovation, to guide the country out of the digital gap that weighs on development and growth is the purpose of the Digital Economy Forum, by the Facebook and the youth division of Confindustria, Italy’s biggest business lobby.
Fabio Gallia, CEO of Cassa depositi e prestiti, talked about the Group’s efforts to transform traditional Italian businesses practices to a more digital logic and an innovative approach, capable of revolutionizing the national economy. The Italian gap numbers are emblematic. According to data released by the European Commission, in the European Union Italy ranks 24th out of 28 in terms of digital skills (both individuals and businesses). The country comes in last place for the use of online tools.
“We make long-term investments in areas where others don’t arrive” Gallia said.
Through a series of initiatives in the pipeline such as ITAtech Platform and AccelerateIT Program, CDP aims to change this by creating a panorama more geared toward development and international competitiveness. CDP’s programs are oriented to finance the technological revolution in the centers of Italian growth: universities, research centers and start-ups. Such programs and activities can count on one more tool: the new CDP site - agile and dynamic, the Italy everyone wants.
