Financing for €116 million together with a pool of banks with a partial SACE guarantee
Two loans for a total of €116 million in support of CMB, a cooperative in Emilia-Romagna that has been part of the history of construction in Italy and beyond. CDP participated in the transaction together with a pool of banks made up of Unicredit, BPER, Banco BPM and Monte dei Paschi di Siena and with a partial guarantee by SACE, as part of the initiatives envisaged by the Liquidity Decree to support companies affected by the impact of the Covid-19 emergency. The resources will be used mainly for investments and the restart of the company and the local area.
Cooperativa Muratori e Braccianti was established 110 years ago in Carpi and over the course of a century has established itself for its high level of professionalism, moving from reinforcing the banks of the Secchia river in 1910 to renovating the monumental UN building in Geneva last year. Its history involves major works led by people who believed in growth and innovation, allowing the company to expand internationally.
Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is proud to have contributed to providing such important financing. Indeed, this is the first direct financing transaction with CMB, the support taking on even more importance given the country’s current difficulties and the centrality of the construction sector, which is key to the national economy. This transaction has great strategic value and allows CDP to make a significant contribution to supporting the country and the most important supply chains of its business sector.
