A new promenade and cinema for residents and visitor
A 13-kilometre-long coastline that was not accessible – that was the predicament of Capaccio Paestum, which, however, now boasts a promenade available to citizens and tourists, built with the support of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
As well as redeveloping the coastline, other interventions include: the construction of the Myriam cinema, the purchase of a historic building as the seat of the Municipality, and the renovation, including energy efficiency works, of several public buildings. All in the name of the green transition, the enhancement of the cultural offering, and the consolidation of tourist services with a view to reduce seasonality.
In the past, the relationship between CDP and this city, renowned for the archaeological site of Paestum – a UNESCO Heritage Site – has included other major investments in school and sports buildings, with the redevelopment of schools and facilities and the maintenance of the municipal road network.
A successful collaboration that has been able to combine the enhancement of public heritage with tourism and social promotion, for the development of the territory within a sustainable context.
