The company, in which CDP Equity has a stake, has signed contracts worth 240 million euros for the construction of a plant for the production of electricity, and for the related service activities
Ansaldo Energia, in which CDP Equity has a stake, has consolidated its presence in Tunisia by signing an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with the Société Tunisienne de l'Élecriticité et du Gaz (STEG).
The new contract will allow the construction of an open cycle gas turbine thermal power station in Mornaguia - a city southwest of Tunis - with turbines, generators and auxiliary systems built at the Ansaldo Energia plants in Genoa. Alongside the construction of the plant, Ansaldo has also signed a contract for plant maintenance and assistance activities.
The newly-signed orders have a value of 240 million euros and construction works will last 22 months. As pointed out by Giuseppe Zampini, Chief Executive Officer of Ansaldo Energia, the initiative signed in Tunisia is the result of demanding teamwork, which involved the entire company. It is a project carried out under the banner of collaboration and synergy, and confirms the company's leadership in the field of electricity generation.
In this way CDP Group guarantees our industrial sector employment and advanced technological development.
