Marco Frey graduated in Economic and Social Disciplines from Bocconi University of Milan in 1986 and today is a Full Professor of Economics and Business Management and Prorector of the ‘Third Mission’ Area at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. He is also director of the research group on sustainability (SuM) and the Master’s course in Environmental Management and Control.
He has developed his academic career in various universities, specialising in sustainability management and covering everything from environmental issues to corporate social responsibility and the circular economy.
Thanks to these skills, at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna he has developed the Workshop on sustainability topics and the social report, the first to be drafted by an Italian university in 2002.
In 2020 he oversaw the introduction of gender budgeting.
He is Chairman of the Global Compact Italia Foundation, a United Nations body.
He has also been Chairman of Cittadinanzattiva and Member of the Board of the Cariplo Foundation and the WWF.
